Kaynes Technology to Produce 3,000 High-Performance Servers for Government Supercomputing Project

Kaynes Technology, a leading Indian electronics manufacturer, has been contracted to produce 3,000 advanced high-performance computing (HPC) servers. These servers will be used in the government's PARAM RUDRA supercomputing systems, a key initiative under the National Supercomputing Mission (NSM).

The project aims to boost India's computational capabilities across various sectors, including hyper-scale data centers, edge computing, banking, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing.

"These servers are crucial for building the PARAM RUDRA supercomputing systems under the NSM," stated E Magesh, director general of C-DAC (Centre for Development of Advanced Computing). "C-DAC relies on Kaynes Technology to deliver these domestically produced servers."

Kaynes Technology's managing director, Ramesh Kannan, explained that the current agreement focuses on RUDRA-1 HPC servers. The company is also prepared to manufacture the next-generation RUDRA-2 servers, having already secured the design from C-DAC.

Kannan emphasized Kaynes Technology's rapid response, stating, "Kaynes obtained the license to manufacture this technology in India within just three-and-a-half months of receiving the design file. Our in-house capabilities allowed us to procure components, create the printed circuit board, and complete design studies and verification. Within this short period, we successfully produced ten fully functional prototypes."

"We commenced electronics manufacturing operations last October at our 17-acre facility in Chamarajanagar. We currently have five surface-mount technology (SMT) lines, with one line alone capable of producing 100,000 servers annually," Kannan added. "Production of the 3,000 servers will begin within the next 20 weeks. Following this, we will deliver the RUDRA-2 prototype."
