Shocking Setback: 50% of Iranian Missiles Failed to Hit Israel

A significant portion of the Iranian missile barrage aimed at Israel late Saturday appears to have malfunctioned, with roughly half of the missiles either failing to launch or crashing before reaching their intended targets, according to U.S. officials. This casts doubt on the capability of Iran's ballistic missile program.

In an update reported by The Wall Street Journal, three U.S. officials revealed that while Iran launched approximately 115 to 130 ballistic missiles towards Israel, a combination of successful interceptions and in-flight failures resulted in a much lower number reaching their destinations. "So much for the vaunted ballistic missile capability of Iran," one of the officials remarked.

Israeli Defence Force Spokesperson Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari stated that in addition to the ballistic missiles, Iran deployed 170 drones and over 30 cruise missiles in the assault. Despite the scale of the attack, only a "few" projectiles penetrated Israeli airspace, causing "minor damages" at the Navatim Airbase. While a 7-year-old girl was injured by missile shrapnel, Israeli authorities report no fatalities.

The reported malfunction rate of Iranian missiles raises questions about the true effectiveness of the country's weapons program. This development comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, with analysts watching closely for further developments in this volatile situation.

That is a very real prospect,after all Iran would definitely want to know response time and any possible weak point of the impressive Israeli SAM network.
