Indian Army Thwarts Pakistani Drone Intrusion in Jammu

Jammu, India – In a swift response, the Indian Army successfully foiled a Pakistani drone intrusion along the volatile Line of Control (LoC) in the Pallanwala sector of Jammu's Akhnoor sub-division on Friday evening.

The Pakistani drone faced a barrage of fire from at least four Indian Army posts as it made repeated attempts to breach Indian airspace. After the determined defense, the drone was repelled back into Pakistani territory. Search operations were immediately launched in the area, with the Jammu and Kashmir Police alerted to the incident.

Senior Army officials described the tense encounter, stating that the Pakistani drone was first detected around 8:30 pm. Alert Indian troops sprang into action, successfully pushing the intruder back.

"The Pakistani drone was fired upon from at least four posts of the Indian Army as it attempted to enter the Indian territory from multiple locations last evening. Searches have been launched in three areas by the Indian Army soon after the attack and Jammu and Kashmir Police has also been informed of the incident," an official explained.

Sources indicate this was not a mere surveillance drone, but a hexacopter—a larger drone with six rotors. This raises the suspicion that the drone was attempting to smuggle weapons or narcotics across the border.

This attempted intrusion comes during a crucial time, mere hours after the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections. The border area near Rajouri district, a region scheduled for polling in the third phase, has been a known target for Pakistan-backed terror groups.
