Amritpal Singh files nomination from Dibrugarh jail

Imprisoned radical preacher ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh on Friday filed his nomination from Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam as an Independent candidate for the Lok Sabha elections from Khadoor Sahib in Punjab. Earlier in the day, the Punjab Government informed Punjab and Haryana High Court that the state has facilitated NSA detainee, Singh, to file his nominations.

Two sets of forms and other papers were filled and signed by Singh on May 9. He was also allowed to meet his proposer and advocate.

The incarcerated Sikh preacher and pro-Khalistan leader, who was arrested in April 2023 and was sent to Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act. He had petitioned before the high court seeking a seven-day release to complete his nomination process. The court declined.

Why on Earth do we waste so much of the public's money harbouring terrorists like this in our prison? If that wasn't enough, they want to contest elections now? Then again, if Kejruddin can be given a bail to campaign and is allowed to remain CM when in prison, this shouldn't be surprising.

What if he was shot down in counter terrorism operation when he was escaping, when police try to catch him he open firing and on retaliation he was shot down , what if such thing could happen , but we let him alive and see the consequences,now he will sit in ur head and become MLA and thy create a political parties and get funds from America Canada UK Australia and khalistani and then create more problems and separatism, so he will use our own system against us , this should have to be understood by our agencies , such criminals need to be given encounter ,don't feed them in jails and he will run political parties, he is a risk for our national security
