Army Commander takes stock of security situation in Jammu

Western Army Commander, Lt Gen R P Singh and General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Rising Star Corps visited Jammu military station and forward areas to review the current security situation and operational readiness.

He was briefed by GOC, Tiger division about operational preparedness, upgradation of security infrastructure and measures to combat the situation arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. He visited the isolation facility at Army Public School, Damana and appreciated the efforts of Covid warriors.

He interacted with troops and commended their efforts for taking adequate safety measures against the Covid-19 pandemic while maintaining high level of alertness and dedication towards their operational tasks.


The Army Commander also visited BRO in Kathua, where he was briefed on the progress of “Project Sampark” by Brigadier Y K Ahuja, chief engineer, Project Sampark. He also awarded GOC-in-C’s commendation to OEM Arjun Singh of 104 RCC/13TF/Project Sampark for his selfless act and devotion towards duty in construction and maintenance by Project Sampark.
