French Police in Kerala to probe 2015 Paris attack that killed 130

A team of French Police officials have reached Kerala as part of the ongoing investigation in the 2015 Paris attack.

The officials will question Subahani Haji Moideen, a suspected Islamic State (IS) terrorist who was arrested by the National Investigative Agency (NIA).

Subahani is believed to have close links to the militants who unleashed attack in Paris, leaving 130 people dead.

The team of French officials reached Kochi on Tuesday (December 4) late night and moved to Thrissur. They will interrogate Subahani Haji Moideen who has been housed at the Viyuur Central Jail. French team will be assisted by the NIA.

Subahani Haji Moideen, a native of Thirunelveli in Tamilandu was arrested from his hometown by Kochi NIA on 5th October 2016.

During the course of interrogation NIA managed to establish Subahani's link with militants who were involved in the Paris attack. Subahani admitted that he received arms training along with Salah Abdu Samad who was arrested in connection with the Paris attack.

French team's interrogation is expected to continue till Friday. This is also the first time an international investigation agency is interrogation an accursed in India in connection with a terror attack outside the country.
